Lo Que Mi Corazon Canta

My poem for mi amor…
One lazy day on bed,
Life filled me as he sang the song in my head.
He strummed his guitar with passion and pride
And the music flowed on the air like tide.

The twinkle in his eyes and the sexy smile
Made my heart skip a beat and left me breathless for a while.
If only I could freeze that moment to last
So I don’t have to look back always at the past.

He played the music and I sang along,
At first I thought we were simply writing a song.
Little did I know we were seeking our fortune
And found it when I sang while he played the tune.

He captured my heart with his melody,
I caught his with my sincerity.
Though I am still filled with uncertainty
I don’t mind taking risk as long as I’m happy.

I am clueless to what the future holds for me,
I think it is too far for me to see,
All I want is to make life as meaningful as it can be.
And enjoy life with him beside me.

Together, we can make life melodious
And daily challenges to be less tedious.
He plays to me music from his heart
I sing him songs that heal a heart torn apart.

Invincible

I am invincible
For you are there as my shield.
Like a fortress,
You protected me
Against the invisible enemies.

I am invincible
For you are there as my canopy.
Like a house made of stone
You sheltered me from the storm.

I am invincible
For you are my home.
A place filled with love and compassion.
A haven of happiness and devotion.

I am invincible
For you light my path.
Like a candle in the night
You filled the the darkness with radiance.

I am invincible
With you by my side
Life was never scary
With your silent prayers,
I achieved victory.

For all of these,
You’ll always be valued
Always be cared for
Above all, you’ll always be loved.

Now, I open my arms wide
To welcome you with warmth
Hold you close, hold you tight
Both day and night.
And never let go of you
Ever again.

Heart & Soul

Don’t be scared.

I’m yours, you’re mine.

Just hold my hand

And together we will find

The path to freedom and love that’s sublime.

Don’t be scared.

Even when I’m not with you,

Keep in mind that our hearts are entwined.

You feel alone?

Don’t be,

For my soul is with you

And yours is with me.

We are 2 bodies

1 heart

1 soul.

I can’t wait for the day when we, 2,

become 1.

My Sonnet, Your Song

Every word, every line, speaks of my love
I wholeheartedly surrender to you.
Each verse, each rhyme soaring above like dove,
Its upward flight an attempt to pierce through.

Every song, every melody, reveals
What your heart and mind continuously sing.
Each note, each measure of a song fulfills
All desires and wants that you are hiding.

Weaving your thoughts, knitting my emotion,
Stanzas entwine our hearts forming a quilt.
The needle and the spindle in motion,
Interlock and bind each thread to the hilt.

My words, my poems speak of no one but you,
Your notes, your songs are my dreams coming true.

You Are Everything

You are a Mother -
Your voice resembling a nightingale’s,
Strings melody that beckons sleep.
Hands soft as a feather, soothe the heart injured deep.
Hug so warm, melts the snowy caps of a solitary life.
Lap like a cushion, comforts souls wounded by strife.

You are a Grandmother -
Your wisdom ripened by age,
Lights paths towards a bright tomorrow.
Love that flies beyond the clouds
And leaves a beautiful rainbow.
Compassion that transcends logic and reason,
Unlocks the chains of jailed principles.
Sacrifices that fortify the bludgeoned spirit,
Resuscitates the dying scruples.

You are a lover -
Your heat melts cold hearts,
Flaming the love buried deep in the hearth.
Passion that blazes
Ignites the frigid desires of the flesh torn apart.
Tenderness so encompassing,
Wraps the naked emptiness of a desolate phantom.
Caress so electrifying
Awakens the sleeping embers of ardor
That was once doomed.

You are a friend -
Fortress of a wounded cavalier
Wide open arms that tame a wanderlust drifter
Haven of cordiality that provides home to a vagabond
Boundless affection
That breaks the walls of a lover imprisoned.

Woman, you are everything to the world,
Without you, mankind will never be bold.

Happy Women’s Month to all women:)

Woman

(a sonnet I wrote for all the wonderful women as we celebrate Women’s Day)

I am woman, by the Mother Earth borne
Risen from a promise, later deceived
Bequeathed pure love, yet by temptation scorned.

Fertile garden of wisdom, I adorn.
Destined to bear knowledge, thus, I conceived.
I am woman, by the Mother Earth borne.

Strengthened by time yet by betrayal torn,
Death came whilst alive and no one dare grieved
Bequeathed pure love yet by temptation scorned.

Cool forest mist is my only sojourn,
A luxuriant solace seldom achieved.
I am woman, by the Mother Earth borne.

Nurturing hands soothe the hearts hurt by thorn,
With tenderness, flaming passion lived
Bequeathed pure love yet by temptation scorned.

I wonder until when I will reap spurn,
Until when all these agony be heaved.
I am woman, by the Mother Earth borne.
Bequeathed pure love, yet by temptation scorned.

Mask of Ice

“For the warrior of light there is no such thing as an impossible love. He is not intimidated by silence, indifference or rejection. He knows that behind the mask of ice that people wear, there beats a heart of fire. Without love he is nothing.” –  The Manual of the Warrior of Light by Paulo Coelho

I always believe that love is a weird accident made up of unexplainable phenomenon and circumstances that playfully interspersed with people’s daily life resulting to emotional euphoria. Falling in love is never planned, unlike studies and career. It simply happens.

Most of the time, love catches me off guard and gives me unexpected results which I openly embrace with all my heart and face with courage. As a warrior of light (a title which I learned to accept due to the indirect prodding of my idol Paulo Coelho) I learned to be honest with myself and never got intimidated by the responses for I do believe that behind the mask of ice that people wear there beats a heart of fire. You will simply feel that love is there despite its inconsistency with the physical and the visible. No explanations needed. Sometimes, words can actually make it lose its luster. After all, love is felt never seen or heard.

And it is sweet to be loved despite the insurmountable barriers. I glow with the thought that our hearts just keep on beating for each other even in the midst of trials and tribulations.

Once you believe that there is no such thing as an impossible love, you will experience a love so incomparable, memorable and unforgettable…

and when it’s meant to be, the universe will conspire and break distance, time and circumstances. It will, it does.

Blank

It is the space in between words that makes us understand a sentence. It is the silence when we talk that gives depth to our words. Sometimes the space and silence make us feel sad because we feel that they tear us apart from our happiness, we sometimes forget that we need to feel sadness for us to deeply appreciate happiness.

In a relationship, it is when we reach a void that we start to see: the value of our beloved, the importance of our togetherness and what it means to be 2 bodies but one soul.

Space In Between

For a long time, we have been together. Just us. We failed to look around

and see what was going on around us. Our life revolved in each other, no one

else. The world was too colorful, brilliant and perfect that we got so

contented and became oblivious of the real world.

Then, a storm came. A lightning hit us and suddenly we found ourselves

alone, with no one to hold on to but ourselves. It was tough. Life became

stagnant and both of us could not seem to move forward. What was once a

rainbow-colored world became black and white. At an instance, I found

myself so alone with no one to turn to.

I wept and wept until I could cry no more and it was then that I looked

around and realized that there is a wide, wide world that exists beyond the

walls that I created while in the midst of obsession. I began noticing

other creatures around me and for the first time, I heard melodies coming

from the silence of the surroundings – melodies that soothe my breaking

heart.
My surroundings changed. I could not describe where I am, all I know is

that I feel like fluffy clouds envelope me, comforting me from all the pain

and suffering. I felt like I’m in a cocoon, shielded from all the cruelties

of the outside world.

I froze and it was then that the powerful writing of Khalil Gibran flashed

right before my eyes… It was God speaking to me, through Gibran’s wisdom:

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you, yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that
quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the
earth.

Like sheaves of corn, he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred
bread for God’s sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of
your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life’s heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of
love’s threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your
laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, I am in
the heart of God.”

And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy,
directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of
loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of
praise upon your lips.

Indeed! Love wounded and crucified me and even shattered my dreams. It left

me naked, wasted and bleeding… yet, through it all, I am here, clothed by

the miraculous tenderness of God’s embrace.

My heart is filled with overflowing gratitude for all the realizations that

dawned upon me. As I was about to look up at the heavens to thank God, I

noticed familiar footsteps getting closer…

Now, I am ready to love him. I can feel that I am whole enough to revel in his

love.

Love Will Conquer

Love Will Conquer

In the midst of

giant waves,

heavy rains

and

thunderstorms…

Even in the depths of

defeaning silence

vast space

and

slow ticking of time…

Love survives

Prevails

Triumphs

Simply because,

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem . . .

It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
how hopeless the outlook;
how muddled the tangle;
how great the mistake.
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world . . . – Emmet Fox
